Human Search and Embassy of Sweden in Innopolis, Tatarstan

On March 26th Head of Economic and Trade Department Björn Kavalkov-Halvarsson from the Embassy of Sweden and General Director Henric Nilsson from Human Search visited Innopolis in Tatarstan. The “Tatar” version of Silicon Valley in California or of Skolkovo in Moscow is an ambitious attempt to attract IT companies to the republic of Tatarstan in Russia and build an international IT university. Less than an hour drive from the capital Kazan this IT cluster has been built up from scratch overlooking the Volga River. The small Swedish delegation was shown around the area and met with representatives of both the university and the business park. Henric Nilsson was impressed by the well-organized territory and modern facilities but indicated that a direct train connection to Kazan would greatly benefit to the development.
